What Miiverse REALLY is?

Nintendo has this social network on The Wii U called “Miiverse“. Each game/app has its own page called a Community. Gamers are suppose to help each other or talk about the game/app on these communities. Like most social networks, Miiverse has some problems and some good things about it.

When you make a post on Miiverse, instead of liking the post, people can “Yeah” the posts. There isn’t much of a difference, but a “yeah” is more about agreeing with the post. Some people loves these “yeahs”, it’s like they feed off of “yeahs”. These people are called “Yeah beggars” .The number of “yeahs” you get doesn’t mean anything, you don’t get any prize or get featured anywhere. It gets annoying when you see a post like “yeah if you are cool” on every community page. It also gets annoying when you see “is this game good” every third post. (I am guilty of this) If you want to know if a game is good, look up a review or just watch the community to see what people are saying about it.

With all the problems Miiverse has, it’s still is a great service. People actually use it to help each out. When people ask a question, they get multiple comments helping them. There are a lot of funny people on Miiverse, I usually laugh out loud when I read some of the posts on the communities. But what I think the best part of Miiverse, is the fan art. People can draw on their posts if they want to. They come up with these amazing pieces of art. Remember everyone can draw but you!

If you want to friend me on Miiverse, My Nintendo ID is SuperSmashKart. Just say you read my blog. 😀

Mario Kart 7 (3DS)

Nintendo‘s racing game is now on the 3DS. Mario Kart 7 is well… the seventh game in the series. Mario Kart 7 adds gliding and underwater driving. You can now customize your karts with different bodies, wheels, and gliders, to changes the stats. For online, you can form and join communities, to set-up easy races and battles with your friend.

Mario Kart 7 doesn’t add too much to the series, the gliding and underwater driving doesn’t seem like a big change because if you played Mario Kart before, I think you’ll get it down naturally. The character roster is kinda disappointing, because some characters that you think will be in the game, aren’t. There are gyro controls, much like the Wii controls, but I found them to work for most of time but I preferred the normal controls.

The game is as great as all of the other Mario Kart games. The online is same as the Wii, plus communities; it’s great. I think the customizable karts add more strategy to the game, trying to find the kart that’s just right for your favorite character.

The game is great, like all the other Mario Karts but Mario Kart 7 doesn’t add much. I do recommend you getting the game, because it’s fun and it will be a good game to add to your 3DS collection.

Game of the Year Nominee: Mincecraft

Why wouldn’t the game I played the most this year, be a game of year nominee. I played this game enough and watch enough videos of Minecraft, to know it’s definitely game of year material. I often said this is one of the best games ever because you can do what you want, when you want and with mods, the potential is endless. I don’t know what to say… but it’s an amazing game and it will be hard to be.

Humble Bundle 4

The Humble Bundle is back, with more games. You can pay any price for the games (as long it’s 50¢ or more).  You decide how much money goes to the developers, charity, or Humble Bundle inc. If you pay more than the average, you will get Gratuitous Space Battles and Cave Story+. The Humble Bundle includes the soundtracks of the games. I recommend getting this because the value of all games together is around $100 but you just have to pay more than $5.33 to get all the games.

My predictions for Nintendo in 2012

Will Nintendo fall even more or have even more hit consoles? who knows? I don’t think 2011 was a good year for Nintendo because the unsuccessful launch of the 3DS. The stock fell because the 3DS and the stock-holders wanted Nintendo to develop apps for the iPhone and iPad. I also thought how they introduce the Wii U was bad because many people just thinks it’s a table for the Wii.

I will predict what might happen to Nintendo or what they might do. I will make my predictions on different facts, other people’s predictions, and my opinion. These are just my predictions, they might not happen.

Predictions

  • The Wii U comes out from the summer to the Holiday season but the launch won’t be as successful as Nintendo wants it to be.
  • The 3DS becomes more successful.
  • Trailers of the new Smash Bros. games will come out but the games won’t come out that year.
  • The Wii U will be priced at $350.
  • Nintendo will have slightly better year in 2012.

Club Nintendo downloadable games

You can exchange your coins you earn for 3DS and Wii games from the online shops. I have to say thats pretty good deal, you just have to register 2 Wii games or if you are part the Ambassador program and register your 3DS before the games came out, you can take all the post-play survey to get Mario Kart. The games are the lower costing compare to the other things on Club Nintendo. (my bad writing)

Super Mario: 3D Land (3DS)

Super Mario: 3D Land has fun gameplay and nice level-design. The game seems like classic Mario game with 3D level-design. Each level has 3 Star coins, that will cause you to look around the level and explore for them. You would want to go back to levels you beat and try to find all the secrets. The 3D is really nice, there effects that would make you want to turn them and some puzzles uses 3D.

There are very few problems but they are very minor. I don’t like the timer because you want to explore the level and the timer will limit in some levels. There are cannons and binoculars that will make you use the gyroscope, the gyroscope sometimes has problems going where you want to go and make you want to turn off 3D.

Super Mario: 3D Land is basically a perfect platformer and a most have for the 3DS.

Happy Thanks Giving!

Thanks Giving is a day where people eat and gamers play games in the morning and noon. The game I played this Thanks Giving was Crackdown. I got it the day before and played it a little. Today, I played it a lot and had a lot of fun with it. It’s one of my favorite genre, Sandbox/free roaming. I like those games because you can do whatever you want whenever you want.

What game did you play on Thanks Giving?

Super Mario: 3D Land pre-judge

I got Super Mario: 3D Land today. I find really fun but there seems parts that are too easy. At first I didn’t use 3D because I didn’t notice a difference but then I notice that some levels had cool 3D effects. I liked how some puzzles used 3D to solve them.(My bad writing.)

I’m going to do a review of this game but when I complete it. The only thing is…. I want it to last.

Sorry for the short post but thanks for reading.

My opinion on Goldeneye: Reloaded

Well, I didn’t talk about it when it was rumored or announced but I played Goldeneye Wii and that made me think of Goldeneye: Reloaded. It’s just an HD version of Goldeneye Wii released on PS360. I guess that it didn’t sell well enough on Wii, so they are selling it on the systems but Activision(publishes Goldeneye and Call of Duty) is just completing against themselves with Call of Duty. I don’t think it will sell well. (My bad writing)
